I know it's been a while but I am back now! Blogging is something that I know I need to be consistent with, so I am going to really try and make sure that I am posting at least once a week.


So we are two weeks away from 2018 and I know it's the time of the year where everyone is reflecting and everyone is "living their best life" -this time of the year is crucial because how you end this chapter will determine how your next one starts - now you could sit here complaining and worrying about all the things that went wrong this year or you could be grateful for all the things that didn't go wrong this year.


I was in church yesterday and my pastor said something to which really hit me - he said many of us judge our blessings on what we do know and not on what we don't know... there could've been a car accident that was meant to happen to you yesterday but you don't know.. but because you do know your bank account is in minus, you want to complain about what you do know, rather than be grateful about what you don't know!

The reason that hit me is because.. on two different occasions I was in the air when Hurricane Irma and Harvey hit america. In fact I was flying into Dallas the exact same day Harvey hit Dallas - I DO NOT KNOW WHAT MY DESTINY WAS MEANT TO BE THAT DAY - I will never know, but I am grateful that I do not know. I am happy to say I am alive because I do not know what was planned for me that day.


Gratitude isn't actually about rejoicing in the good but being able to rejoice in the bad, we are all going through something - mentally, emotionally, physically or spiritually.. you can not control what happens to you but you can control how you react to it, I remember my mum saying to me one day after she saw me stressing about a situation, she said "Hayley you can't stop a bird pooing on your head but you can stop it from making a nest there" and IT HIT ME..You have a choice as to whether you are going to let the same problems effect you in 2018.. You may read this and say "it's easier said than done" that's true but it can be done.


Learn how to magnify your blessings, instead of your problems - you would refrain giving more food to a baby if it keeps spitting it out, how do you expect God to give you better when you are not even grateful for the good..


Also, Gratitude is one of the most attractive traits/characteristics -

hint : it's hard to be around an ungrateful individual.





  1. Have a gratitude journal - everyday write down your highlight of the day before bed and 3 things you are grateful for.

  2. Give out love, bless your family, friends and even strangers

  3. Listen to upbeat songs, anything that will get your spirits up

  4. Treat yourself on a regular basis

  5. Surround yourself with people who give out good vibes
